Hi.

Seems like i need to get a bag for my upcoming 8x10 KMV. These 2 bags are on my list.
F.64 is much cheaper than the PB P1. I can get the F.64 brand new at $175-$210.
The PB P1 is likely about $250 with a few accesories.

Now, the problem is the budget.
So, i'm looking for a used one.. Anyone have these bags that are gathering dusts? :)

Anyway, would these bags Airlines friendly? Anyone had used these for travels?
I saw the F.64 BPX on youtube it's looks big on Fred Newman video and it looks a bit bulky than the PB P1.
So, i'm still undecided which one. My budget wants the F.64 BPX but my taste likes the PB P1!

Help! :)

I have two BPX packs. They're quite good, and I highly recommend them.

One holds the 4x5 Zone VI kit with about a dozen lenses, filters, and accessories.

The other holds the 8x10 Tachihara with three lenses and a couple of filters.

Thanks Leigh!

I find it a bit bulky for me. I'm just like 5'8 in height would that be too big for me?

Another thing is if this bag is airlines friendly. I checked Emirates carry on baggage dimension.

Handbag: 55 x 38 x 20cm (22 x 15 x 8 inches)

Which is almost exactly with F.64 BPX dimension. I hope the local airlines would be the same. I don't like to put the bag on checked in.

It's hard to say how it would fit you. Everybody is different, and backpacks ride differently.
I'm 6' tall and rather large. I think the BPX is very comfortable.

I expect the dimensions were designed to meet airline requirements, but those change over time.
A product that conformed at the time it was designed might be too large now. You need to check.

Also, the BPX has a pouch on the front. That's where I carry my 4x5 camera, which increases the
thickness of the pack. Make sure that dimension is correct for the way you intend to use the pouch.

I'm 5'8" and the BPX feels fine to me. It is a large bag but it's not uncomfortable or cumbersome to carry. I originally bought it for a Sinar F1 but now I carry an 8x10 Deardorff with it. It's a great bag for the price and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Thank you Mitch. Now, i'm curious if the BPX is airlines friendly. :D

Hopefully i could get a bag soon. Looks like i would end up with the F64 BPX. The PB backpack is out of stock.
