In "Pictorial Lighting" Mortensen recommened a simple round aluminum reflector with a 500w hot light in it. With today's higher speed films, it's not necessary to have 500w. A 100w incandescent or 150w equiv CFL will work just fine. I know I can buy lights like this, but there's always something to buy, so I made do with what I had on hand. It works well. work light on a light stand.
