A friend of mine is planning to build a 20x24 holder. However we do not have any 20x24 film or paper in our hands. May you ULF shooters let me know dimensions of 20x24 film and paper? Are they exactly 20.00" x 24.00" or +/-... ?

Btw as far as I know there is no ANSI standard for 20x24 holder. So what should be the standard (e.g. T-distance, ...) for them? Or each manufacturer has their own standard?

Many thanks for your input.

No ANSI standards.

T-dimension is about 0.035", will vary a bit depending on make of holder, vintage, etc.

20X24" film, when you can get it, is generally cut to about 1/8" - 1/32" less than nominal size, as the frame in holders is typically just 20X24'. Paper, on the other hand, is usually supplied in actual 20X24" size.

So if you want your holder to accept both film and paper you should probably make the frame of the holder a bit larger than 20X24".

Thank you. So he should make the frame a bit larger (just minimal) than 20x24".
