Here's the published results. The image is a palladium print from a 5x7 negative. The tree is a ficus tree in the park outside Recoleta Cemetery in Buenos Aires. The root cluster is about 6 feet tall (2m for the metrically inclined), just to give you a sense of scale of the thing. The photo was taken with my Canham wood field, and I want to say it was my Goerz Am. Opt. W-A Dagor 4 3/8" f8 (if not, then probably the Rodenstock 90mm f6.8 Grandagon). Printed on Bergger COT320 paper.

Sweet! Wonderful image. What kind of tree is that?

Kirk-

it's a Ficus. That's what they look like when they're allowed to grow in the wild, instead of being twisted into a braid at a potted plant shop. I think it's a relative of the fig tree someone posted in another thread here yesterday.

In Buenos Aires there is another enormous ficus tree in San Martin park, off the north end of Calle Florida. I was impressed at its span over such a wide area.

David- I think I saw that one also, but didn't have a camera convenient at the time (I was probably in a cab on my way to or from the Buquebus terminal to take the ferry to Colonia in Uruguay).
