I've been trying to buy TMax 400 in 5 x 7 for several years, but without success. Keith Canham, maker of the Canham 5 X 7 is trying to put together a bulk order from Kodak. I love TMax 400 for its reciprocity--or lack thereof, its high film speed for low light or windy days, and its tones.
It would be wonderful if some of us could get together to make this happen. If anyone is interested you can email him at:

Jim,

How large of an order must be placed b-4 Kodak will produce 5x7 film?

I always hear that Kodak requires something in the range of $50k before they will tool up for a film run. This is just hear-say and I was just curious. If Kodak doesn't want our business, I will just buy Ilford or even X-ray film.

According to Mr Canham its about $13000 to make a special order fly. I got into the recent 8x10 TMY order in a small way, so I can cut it down to 5x7. If you follow him on facebook you will get the latest updates.

According to his Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/pages/K-B-Canham-Cameras-Inc/131324393576850) the boxes contain 50 sheets. You can also see a Kodak film order page on his web site here (http://www.canhamcameras.com/kodakfilm.html).

80 boxes for $13,000 equates to $162.50 per box, but he does not state a price yet.

Badger Graphics currently sells 50 sheets of TriX for $ 139.99, and 50 sheets of Ilford films for $90.

He's half way there. Did I mention the fine grain of this film?

I LOVE TMY and wish that I could afford to buy several boxes. I hope it happens and maybe one day I can buy a ton of it. There is no better film made today for contact printing.

Sorry, Kodak has priced themselves out of my pocket, Ilford and Arista get my money. I just got a new/used 5X7 Kodak camera today...
