Please take a moment to clarify the features of the GraLab 300 timer--recent eBay purchase...

Specifically, the upper left hand corner switch reads (clockwise from nine o'clock) "time, timer/at zero, focus, timer/running." Also, and in the interest of avoiding improper setting and use of the timer's two hands, please provide a use scenario there as well.

thank you LFP pros!

I use older style ones, I have no idea what those labels mean... Mine just say 'focus/time' on the left and 'on/off' on the right.

Basically in focus mode you can turn the enlarger on and off with the on/off switch. In time mode, you can start and stop the timer (and therefore turn the enlarger on and off) with the on/off switch.

I am not aware of a proper way to set the time, I just crank the middle knob around until I get the time I want.

Note the "minute" hand is hooked so it can be reached if directly beneath the "second" hand. Crank it around clockwise to the minute you need then with the knobbed second hand, adjust it clockwise also. For example if I'm using it for development timing of 7 min and 30 sec I crank the minute hand to 7, then turn the second hand to the 6 o'clock position which is a half minute of addional time.

Forgot to mention, if you go too far setting the minute you can adjust it counter clockwise without harm.
