Hi Guys,
Greetings! I'm new to this forum and am posting in this thread for the first time. Thanks to Tuan, who was very kind to respond to my email directed to him, I'm posting the same query in this forum to get your inputs (images attached for reference). I've heard a lot of great stories on Linhof from the old-timers; and definitely want to invest my time on this instrument. What would be a reasonable price for this kit? The seller claims to be everything in good working condition (while advising to get one round of servicing on the 90, 150 and 360mm Schneider-Keruznach lenses)

Vishy,

I think you're right (III) and the camera is a bit overpriced. Feel free to ask on the forum as there are others who know Linhof better than me.

Tuan.
> Hi,
> Hope you're doing fine. I got your contact details from the largeformatphotography.info webisite. I got a lead on a Linhof Technika from a seller in India, who wishes to sell his old camera. I've attached the photographs of his camera.

> He claims it is a Linhof Master Technika; but the camera appears to be a Linhof Technika III. Am I right in this assessment. Also he wishes to sell it for about $5500 USD (with the entire kit and 3 lenses). Is this reasonable or a way overpriced camera? Can you kindly help me with your inputs?

Vishy,
Just slowly back away, then turn and run away as fast as you can from that stuff. It is a III and even if everything was in perfect condition would only be worth $1000 or so. The seller is not being honest with you. Condider a Top Rangefinder Crown Graphic if you need a RF 4X5, and an inexpensive Toyo monorail with a Graphic adaptor lensboard to go with it. Save your money for materials and expenses.

Thanks Clive! I see that your bargain is very consistent with the ones at eBay and BH. Thanks for your inputs. Some great galleries you have at your website!!

Vishy
Well thanks!
Hang around here long enough and a deal for your LF camera will appear, and you'll learn a lot meantime ( I did!)
