I know this is a bit like asking how long is a peice of string... but what are favourite developers for Plus-X
I've ordered some of that "ebay" Plus-X in 8x10 but I never ever used the stuff when you could actually buy it off the shelf :-)

I've always liked Microdol-X for Plus-X. It can be a tad contrasty though...

Microdol-X 1+3, but you lose a lot of speed. I shoot it at ISO=80.

For contact printing, ABC Pyro is hard to beat.

The obvious: D-76. I've used it for years in all formats. Its got more "snap" I think, than FP4. You could intrepret that as contrasty, but I think of it as snap. Very fine grain even in 35mm.

So D23 might also be an interesting choice?

Yup, of course. Nice combination that I've used a lot in 4x5. I hear they no longer make Plus-X in 4x5. It that's true its too bad. I haven't done much 4x5 in the last 20 years but I'm picking it up again now that my kids are grown and I have more spare time.
