I recently accidentally (dang eBay!) bought a Korona 12x20 with 7x17 reducing back, with one filmholder of each size. Now another guy is selling a couple 7x17 Korona holders. They look just like mine, and his (separately listed) camera's back looks just like mine; will they fit my camera ok?

My assumption is that they will, but I have heard so many warnings about non-standardized holders that I thought I would check here first.

TIA,

No, all Korona 7X17 holders are not the same. I have seen variations of up to 3/16" of an inch in width and in the positon of the rib-lock on the film holders. However, I would estimate that about 80% of Korona holders will be within about 1/16" tolerance on both of these measurments.

For the 7X17 S&S holders we use the average of several different Korona holders to establish a standard size, and those measuremnts are 21.85 cm in width, and 46.1 cm from the end of the flap to the beginning of the rib-lock. T-dimension is 8.5 mm.
