i just bought a sinar copal shutter from the bay and the pin above the red dot for the auto aperture appear to be flatten. is this normal? or it should be protruding out as it needs to be coupled with sinar db board. i don't have sinar db mount lens to try it out. sinar copal users, could you help me with that? thank you!

Doesn't sound normal. Probably "modified" like this one was (http://www.largeformatphotography.info/forum/showthread.php?40730-Sinar-Shutter-on-Field-Camera&p=982475#post982475).

Why not post a photo of it? A picture can be worth...

The "problem" with this pin is, that if you are not using original Sinar lens boards, they often don't alow movement of this pin. So if previous owner use it for barrel lenses and wasn't prepared to pay for original lens boards, it was an easy solution to flatten the pin (I know, because I have some nice lens boards a fellow in Italy sold on 'bay, and they are very thick. I need to mill the lens boards to accomodate this pin).

Here's what I have. Apparently the pin had been flatten probably due to the reason by Marko (In fact when I bought this shutter my intention is to buy a petzval lens later and use them together).

Thank you very much guys for the helpful information.

You should ask for your money back. That shutter won't work with db-mounted lenses.
