Whilst rummaging through some old files, I ran across this one from my early explorations with the 8x10 a couple of years ago. I was rather taken by the contrast between the convoluted form of the tree and the precise, nearly neo-classical brick facade of the former O.M. Edwards Factory here in Syracuse.

Though its not too bad here, I have since learned how to manage the bellows sag on my aged Korona a bit better.

Great subject! Lots of angles, lines and geometric goodies to look at.

Nicely captured! I used to work downtown, just near there.

Must have been "fun" to set up a view camera across the street from there.

    Re: post your Architecture photographs!

    Hi everybody,

My first architecture image with the Shenhao 4x5 in 4x5 format and all together the 5th image with this camera.
I am still not used to everything but have a lot of fun.
Here you can see a picture from Shenyang in China of the rather new Grand Theatre Hall.
Everybody calls it the diamond and I am sure there are a lot of brilliant pictures hidden to be explored.
So I will definitely come again and see what I can find.
This particular image though is not convincing me so much and I like to ask for some ideas about interesting composition ideas on such kind of building.
I know the light and contrast (I added some in LR) was also not the best, so this could definitely give a boost as well but what makes me more headache is the composition...
Especially with the newer architecture, where strong perspective could make sense, I am still lost when I stand in front.

Looking forward to your comments and feedback.

    Thanks and best regards, Miguel

BTW: This was done with a 90mm, giving me almost no movement possibilities anymore.

... and here is the second image of this day:
Skyscrapers in contrast to light sky without clouds.
    Contrast added in LR.
Even it loses a lot of details, I find it much more attractive compared to the flat low contrast original.
I could also post it, in case somebody is interested.

    Cheers, Miguel
