    Well, it's your vision, but I think shadow detail is overrated. I like the drama here, and although there is lots in the black, I don't think it is "harsh", just contrast-y; not always a bad thing.

    Given all the great BW work posted in the last posts I feel a bit unsafe posting the following image, but it was one of my first "studio" shots and took a looong time to focus (reminder that there are cameras more sutitable for this kind of work than Tachihara)

    classical finish puukko and a handmade spoon (by ma father) - great for camping.
