    Macbeth Densitometer Manual?

Hi all - just ordered a Macbeth TD500 transmission densitometer on the auction site. While I'm waiting for it to show up, I was wondering if anyone could point me to a manual?

Also, what if the light source ever burns out? I know where I can get an enlarger bulb, but densitometers...?

    Sorry don't have a manual.

But when it comes in, look under the base, there might be a spare lamp there.

I used to have a Macbeth transmission densitometer. I don't recall the model number. I obtained a manual by contacting the company that makes or made the densitometers. I dealt with a very nice lady who sent me a manual. That was about ten years ago.

Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you do criticize them you'll be
a mile away and you'll have their shoes.

Macbeth merged or was purchased by Gretag to form Gretag-Macbeth which was later purchased by Xrite, so you may wish to check with Xrite.

Somewhat deviating from the topic, do you think there's much hope for newer companies providing technical information and/or assistance for the products of older companies they acquire? I can only imagine how that tech support call would go...

That's why you contact the company and inquire. As I recall the TD500 is a much older Macbeth and even Macbeth may not have supported older models. I guessing the the manual may be found somewhere on the net.
