    Good ideas by all.

Maybe the Doc will fix my Ocular implants with his Laser next week.

A one time chance to burn off secondary cataracts.

That idea freaks me out. But Bloodhoundbob had it done last week same Dr. I drove him and now he will drive me.

    ‘The blind leading the blind.’😎

Really grateful for Bob and the Dr!

I wonder if a Mallincam or other type of astro eye piece camera would work in a grain focuser. Attached to a separate monitor, it would offer a larger view of the grain. or as posted previously, an eyepice adapter for mobile phones is a cheaper way to do this. Good luck !
notch codes ? I only use one film...

Looked up Mallincams. I want something like the sky cam.

I'm going to make high contrast focus negs and check if I can use them for pre-focus, lock down the enlarger and switch to a real neg. I have tried scratched negs but that scratch gets big.

I can focus a GG and have up to 11X14 cameras, so I can make contact prints.

However, I like enlargering, it's part of the wet darkroom magic.

    Good idea.

I put a laser inside a FocuSpot a few years ago, that works well. Perhaps a better and longer lever...

I have used parts from this toy robot part supplier.

They are low cost and walk one through almost any project.

This sensor may be good enough if calibrated to known focus/image/size distances on an enlarger. It has analog output, enabling audio, or a larger visual display.

    Winter work.

How was the surgery? Since I havent used an enlarger before, is it possible to set it once for size print you wanr and leave ot set there forever?

With non-sheet metal, non worn out well designed enlargers maybe, but there is some slop factor that works into the system, as well as neg flatness, easel slop, paper thickness/wave/humidity, baseboard stability etc...

A proper custom enlarger that was made with machine grade components and well designed would come close, but pesky materials would change things slightly, but enough for tired old eyes to see???

I can understand. My eyes aren't bad but and I di wear glasses. I have a hard time trusting them. Mechanical tolerances are a pain and when they stack against you, it's a bad day.

Yesterday it was laser blasting secondary cataracts and I do mean blasting. The doc shot a beam with a shutter 30 times into my eyes. I could feel the impact. No pain, but my eyes had painkiller and were dilated.

Woke today with the TV looking far better. Then I drove 100 miles without glasses.

Near vision is still poor. We expected that.

A NASA grade enlarger could be made to be always in focus. Not the Rube Goldberg crap all enlargers are. Even very expensive EU gear is not close to perfect.

I will keep tinkering as that is what I do.

Damn the experts, Full Throttle! (a paraphrase)

    Oak tree in my way...

    Been there.

    Thanks, Steve for checking in.

Glad it worked! But drive carefully!

Look for a Homerich. They made electronic AF enlargers that were easily programmable by the user and were dead accurate!
