I acquired this Linhof 5x7 20 years ago. Its serial number is 25655 as printed in hot shoe. Can you help identifying its version and year of production? Thanks a lot.

Hi Bob another one for you - A Linhof Technika IV with beige coloured leather, serial number is 77022 can you confirm the model and date of manufacture?

Also when having a cam made for a particular lens is it only suitable if the lens is kept in the same mount?

1962 Super Technika IV.

For a IV the cam has to match the camera and the specific lens, mounted in the board it was cut for. For instance, the current 001015 is made differently then the 001015 board from when your camera was current.
