Your best efforts at making your own example of an existing photo

I would imagine that when folks start out in large format they try to do a few photographs that they have seen before. For example Weston's famous pepper, Adam's Snake River and the Teton's (I tried to find his tripod holes the three times I have been there) and other famous (or infamous) photographs.

Who knows, maybe you did a better job than the guy (or gal) that is known for the same photo. I am talking about exact likenesses rather than just being in the same place.

Anybody like to show their efforts?

I had a go with a portrait by Julia Margaret Cameron.

    Dear OP, Kevin!

Will you allow obvious pastiche/ironical constructions here - or only serious works?

Mine's better than Weston's because mine has a pixie!

I need to find it but I recreated Alexander Gardner's picture of the sharpshooter at Devil's Den at Gettyburg. I did it the best I could remember his frame because when I was there the devil's den was plastered solid with flowers, wreaths, and printouts of that image.

I love that "Nikki Mother" . Beautiful Light!

There has to be some more Irving Penn's and Bert Sterns out there somewhere.

Thanks, I was really pleased with how it turned out. My wife doesn't like it though.
