    Where can I buy/rent a broken/cheap large format camera?

For a short film I am shooting in January, one that takes place in an undisclosed-yet-"older" time in Southern Italy (in reality, Princeton, NJ...), I need a large-format camera with an old, wooden tripod as a prop. It must be something that looks intricate and would take time to set up. Is there a place I can borrow or buy a large format camera that would function and look only as a prop in a film? My guesses would be photography studios or antique shops. Sadly, I just signed up, so I can't post in the Trade forum here.

If you give a decade and "camera user information (professional photographer, serious amateur etc)", it would help. You do want to be authenitic?

    No, I don't... that's entirely irrelevent, honestly.

I found two on Ebay, will call local antique shops, and Fotocare in NYC could be a last effort.

Well that answer doesn't really sound too interesting for most on this forum!

Hi Richard, do you still have that Kodak camera lying around? I'd be interested in taking it off your hands...

The comment about which decade is extremely relevant as equipment changed a great deal in the period 1880 - 1920.
As someone who has worked on many film/tv sets, I would suggest you do not use a tripod, but a wooden studio stand. Unskilled people around tripods is dangerous for people as well as for equipment.
There is an excellent Hercule Poirot episode which shows how old photographic props can be used in a very realistic way.
