On APUG I can setup my view to exclude forums I have no interest in. As an example when I check for new posts I don't see any from say the rangefinder forum + classified etc etc. I would like to do the same here.

I know it can be done but I can't figure out how I did it.
As I responded in the other thread about this, I believe that functionality was provided by a third-party plug-in for the old version, and the developer of that plug-in decided not to continue support. I don't know what version of vBulletin Sean is running, but it is possible that he added that functionality himself. Sean is able to do special programming for APUG because he is running it as a business.
A possible work-around would be to save the following as a personal bookmark:
