Marflex retired, Nippon Photoclinic Linhof/Wista USA service center

After several decades of repairing cameras and lenses Marflex is now retired and all Linhof and Wista products requiring service, in or out of warranty, will now be done by Nippon Photoclinic who just completed a week of factory training in Munich.

No more Martin? What a shame, great guy, great work. I hope he enjoys his retirement, he's earned it.

That explains why I never got a reply back from him recently. That's too bad. Onick at Rollei Hensel has also retired.
Can Nippon produce custom cams for Linhof technikas?

Of course they can make cams. They just finished factory training and they have been doing cams even before going to the factory. But what do you mean by "custom" They cut blank cams that Linhof supplies.

I have a 152mm Komura f/3.5 lens I'd like to have a cam made for, unless someone already has one?

Just talk to Nippon. Someone elses cam would not focus correctly with your lens. What camera version do you have?

Then they should have cams. But with a IV they need your camera and your lenses to cut the cam. With a V and Master they only need the lens to cut the cam as the later model cameras have a zeroed ground glass. The III and the IV do not.

    Bob,
I wrote to them. Below is my e-mail and their reply.

    > Hi,
    > I am wondering what it would cost to have a custom cam made for a lens for my Linhof Technika IV 4x5 camera. The lens I want to use is a Komura 152mm f/3.5.
    > What is the procedure? Do you need the lens, the camera or both?

    Hello, Eric

    Thank you for your email.

    Rim.
