    Hello from Scotland

    Hi!

Thought I'd join up here as I am taking my first steps in to Large Format photography.
I concentrate mainly on landscapes and have been using a 5d mk2 for a while although I have felt
for a while that my photography needs a bit of a push and something new to get my inspiration going again.

So I decided to buy a cheap LF camera to learn the craft, picked up a Calumet Cadet with the bundled 150mm f/6.3 Rodenstock last week
for about £140. Although I'm waiting till I get paid before getting some Film and other assorted paraphenelia.

Might not be the best camera in the world but I didn't want to lay down to much money to start with, I plan to develop my own film as I used
to do 35mm whilst at uni.

Plan on having a good look through the site to ensure I dont mess up too much when getting started!

If anyone is interested in my Digital work I have it hosted here http://www.scottamurray.com

Welcome! You have a great portfolio. I particularly liked your, Fallen Tree, Loch Rannoch, http://scottamurray.com/fallen-tree-loch-rannoch/.

Welcome Scott. Please also consider joining the UK Large Format forum, http://www.lf-photo.org.uk/forum/index.php. If you post a question there you will find people happy to help, including people north of the border.

Dad's from Invergordon. Spent a lot of time in Scotland. Love it. One of my favourite places is Loch Awe. Welcome to the forum!

    Welcome to the forum.
You've got a black box with a lens at one end and (with luck) a sheet of film at the other end, who needs more?
It's the glass that counts. Check out Foma film to keep costs down.
If you join the UK forum you really need to own an Ebony camera (God knows why) sleeping with the thing also helps. You also need to spend a large chunk of your year in France (I don't have a passport so I've never ventured into foreign parts). This country is fantastic, do the research and enjoy it.
If you need any advice this is the place to be.
    Pete.
