I usually use the lens correction feature in Camera Raw to correct this kind of thing. But you need to anticipate the use of it when you're making the photograph and include more in the image than you otherwise would in order to leave room for the cropping that inevitably occurs. You probably could use lens correction here but so much cropping would be required that you wouldn't end up with something that looked much like the original photograph.

a mile away and you'll have their shoes.
If you're using a digital camera and DXO Optics Pro "knows" about (supplies modules for) your camera and lens then it can do wonders correcting these things.

I had a quick go, from saving the original to saving the corrected image using CS6 was 17 minutes.
PTGui offers several advantages over photoshop including ease of correction and higher quality interpolation to help reduce quality loss from extreme corrections. Knowing the focal length you provide it upon import, which will correct barrel distortion for you/ open up the editor window/ drag the image up until verticals are to your liking and save the file. I did not have the focal length so simply changed the 'b' lens distortion parameter on the lens settings tab to -.05, which took 3 guesses to arrive at a suitable value.
Better yet: Just press "Delete."
