Thread: Acros and HC-110

    Acros and HC-110

Does any one have any experience with the combination of Neopan Acros 100 and HC-110. I am aware of what this film can do with D-23 and Microdol, however, there isn't much or at all about Acros with HC-110. Typically looking for a dilution with better highlight compensation, but any start would be a help. Thanks.

Try stand development with HC-110, I have been doing 1:100 (1 hour) and 1:200 (2 hour) stand with fantastic results.

    Hope this will help.
4.5min is too short for me in rotary processor.

    Re: Acros and HC-110

I developed six sheets of Acros 4x5 a few hours ago in HC-110. The negs look really good, but since they aren't dry yet I don't have any scans. I had some bright highlights I was worried about and from initial inspection even the densest parts of the negatives show separation and detail. My processing specs were these:

    Film rated at E.I. 80
    HC-110 dil. H (1:63 from concentrate)
    Temp: 69F
    Time: 11 minutes
Agitation: First full minute then 20 seconds of toroidal inversions by hand (roughly 7) per minute in a Jobo tank.

Excellent! That is great detail, and will have to try that.

Just to add to the information in this thread, I gave a go at stand development at 1:100 suggested by TimeShare with the following proccess
    HC110 at 1:100 from concentrate
Temperature 22.1c (could not get it down to 20c)
45 Minutes (reduced from an hour to compensate for the higher temp)
Agitate first full minute, then left alone for 44 minutes

Results were sub-par, properly in the shadows. Due to the lack of proper process, I sort of winged it but with the temp and time variable. Will attempt again tomorrow.

I, too, like Acros in HC-110 but I don't think it is the compensating development you are after. I've been wanting to try Diafine with Acros. Anybody else done that?

I dip mine is SPD and get really contrasty results, which is why I do it.

Here is a shot from my developing session last night by way of example. Same development specs as mentioned above.

    Re: Acros and HC-110

I've had good luck with it in HC-110 dilution G. Alas, my dev notes are buried in a box from my move still, but they really did go nicely together. I'll post back with dev time when I find it.
