FWIW, I've been using the Manfrotto 056 3D Junior head for all my lighter weight wooden folders for years with great results. It is similar in size and function to the 410. No gears, however, but no slop either when you tighten things down. Also, you can loosen all the controls and use the head like a ball head, or tighten one control and have movements with the other two, or use it conventionally, one movement at a time.

It is a bit lightweight for my monorails, but handles the Zone VI folder just fine.

I've used that head too, a light 4x5 would be OK. It is one of the better Manfrotto designs IMHO.

I had my 410 serviced after 10 years of use. It became good as new. Another vote in favor of it.

The only way to improve on it, is to place a Manfrotto 438 Leveling Head beneath it.

I use the 410 with my Deardorff 8x10. Rock solid.
