    Re: Post your paths

My favorite canoe path during spring-time melt-off.

However, you must first bathe in Deet to enjoy it!

Far right middle, you can see the meander where I've just come from. My tripod stands at the put-in & take-out point. I didn't sufficiently trust myself as a waterman to bring LF gear for the day-long round trip. But I thought the view here was nice, even if the only clouds to add interest were clouds of mosquitoes.

Thanks, Alex. It was one of those that brought a smile to my face the first time I threw it on the lightbox.

    Re: Post your paths

I was just going to go look for this thread, and here it is just bumped up to the top a few days ago.
I was messing around today, needing some outdoor time. Didn't find much but this boardwalk lifted above the swamp worked with what I was shooting.

    Chamonix 45n1, Schneider 38mm XL, 6x12 back w/ 35mm insert thingies, Plus-X, Microdol-X:

So I crammed the bellows on the Chamonix pretty much as short as they would go and could just get this lens to focus @ about 6ft. I rigged up a little handle from a flash bracket and attached both a 12mm viewfinder from the 12mm Voigtlander M-mount lens I have and a bubble level right next to it. I can approximate what the image will look like this way without removing the rollfilm holder and composing on the GG. Works fairly well except the Chamonix focus knob wants to drift forward so a couple of the shots on the roll are way off the mark focus-wise. I'll need to be more diligent on checking that before taking the shot (I have a marking that shows where the proper focus is attained). With the handle I can shoot handheld with this rig but here I was still on a tripod due to a 4-second exposure.

Jim - I bet it was.. I have a couple that as soon as they hit a light table I got a big child like grin... Velvia is great for that... I can't say I've ever had one with colour like that though (we don't get much in the way of autumn/fall colours where I live...
