    chemicals

Hello, Does anyone have any experience with fotochem out of Quebec. I've visited their site and the prices seem good, but I don't know about service or the freshness of their chemicals etc. I've tried to contact Artcraft to no avail and Photographers Formulary seems a bit expensive. Any and all comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

I've used him a couple of times and he seem very good. If you check the recent thread on Canadian Suppliers, there are a couple of comments by regular buyers from fotochem

    William,

If you're in Canada you might also try Nymoc Chemicals in Toronto. Their number is (416) 465-1929. Don't know if they stock 'exotics' like palladium chloride but I've bought pyrogallic acid, silver nitrate and the more mundane stuff like edta, sodium sulfite, etc. Good service.

    Where is Nymoc located?

I've bought most of the common B&W chemicals and the RA-4 kit from Fotochem. All fast shipping. No problems.

Nymoc Chemicals 24 McGee St Toronto, Ont M4M 2K9

They only sell 'raw' chemicals - most of the local 'alt' photographers buy their chemistry from them.

Nymoc located on east bound of Queen St. E.
After you passed Vistek / DVP, keep going east bound. just about few block you'll see McGee St.

Sometimes they'll out of stock (Just sometimes, you'll find most of the "photo" chemical there without problem). The only chemical I have to place an order is Ferric Oxalate and Platinum Chloride.
