Used CPPs are $1500-1800 and are prone to die after the first week you get them. This machine should have issues, which the last batch of CPPs had, all ironed out.

new atl's werent cheap either in the days...
just had my 1000 serviced for 500 euros lol
Yeah, that's very expensive, especially considering you can do like I do and use an RH Designs Process Master-II with the temp probe that runs about $260 shipped. It is more versatile too in that it allows for factorial development in tray processing with papers.
I hope they sell enough to do well, but it's about a grand to high for me considering how many CPP2's there are out there. I have replacement parts for mine, I should be set...
And how much are people spending on high end DSLR's and Medium Format Digital? Film or Digital, there is always the high end "Pro" and fine arts equipment. When you look at some of today's higher end prices and compare them with quality/ professional camera (adjusted) prices from the previous century it is not stratospheric. Quality and large format equipment has never been priced for the family snap shooter; well maybe the well heeled family snap shooter. Think Leica, Rollie, Linhof, Sinar and Durst Laborators to name a few.
