Was/is it aligned properly in the GG holder and did I alter the ice pack in Greenland by putting my finger print on the glass. There are so many aspects of LF photography yet to be confronted. You also need to ask if the fingerprint will show on your negatives. And can you be certain it won't,
    Now that made me laugh...

I will try the soap and warm water today. Probably needs cleaning anyway, and I don't even realize it yet.

No grid on it either, so I don't have to worry about losing one.

I'm anxious to sign up for a LF workshop taught by Shen45. I hope it's someplace convenient, like Adelaide.

Don't touch it too often or you will go blind!

I just googled Whidbey Island John and I'd say a workshop at your place would be ok. Mind you we could meet halfway

For real? It seems incredibly odd for Sinar to use ink that wouldn't stand up to some watered down kerosene.. Thanks for the warning.

Don't worry, It's certainly alot better than touching a digital camera sensor.
Real cameras are measured in inches...
    Not pixels.

I'm intrigued by the fact that ground glass can be clean off the glass, I thought that the ground was just that ground/etched into the glass. Is it actually a coating?

No, you are right. They are talking about the grid lines that are often superimposed on the glass to assist with composing the photo.
