Rod Dressler tells an interesting story.
Apparently, Ansel Adams took several photographs of the wife of the well know pianist, Vladimir Ashkenazi. But, Adams became seriously ill. While in the hospital, Adam's asked Rod Dressler to print three sets of the photographs. Rod would print and bring the results to Adams, and the latter would say do this, and this, and this. Once they were printed to Adam's satisfaction, he signed all three sets. One set was given to the Ashkenazi's, one set went the the trust (I believe), and the third set went to Rod Dressler. Adams died just a few days later.
Rod Dressler claims that these are the only photographs Adams signed that he did not print himself.
