LF artist using lenses with broken elements?

Sometime, a long time ago, I think I read a VC article about a photographer who used lenses with smashed, cracked, or missing elements. I think it was a woman. Her photos had a dreamy but edgy look to them. Does anybody remember her and know of a link to information about her art?

    Thanks

That was a great page on the pbs site. I especially liked the video and the interview.

Interesting because I just met a young photographer online that used a minolta SRT and a Diana. She scanned a proof sheet to put the photos on her website. Really did a terrible job, there was dust and fibers on the scanner. But it only added to the vintage look of her photos. http://members.cox.net/vertencre/entrance.html

I like the vintage look, but fudging it is alot different than actually using the forgotten processes.

BTW, i have a 210mm caltar with a big chip n the rear element. But then I use it because I dont have anything else in that focal length right now.

Alternately, you might want to try using front and rear cells from different lenses... Such as here (front 150mm Symmar-S; rear 90mm S.A.) and here (front 150mm Symmar-S; rear 120mm S.A.). Most of the pictures in the book were taken with Gandolfi, Deardorf and Ebony 5x4 cameras.

    Cheers,
