    Street Photography

    Red's Java House, San Francisco

Red's has been a fixture on the waterfront since 1923 and a popular subject for art school sketching/painting classes. However that may soon change as the Warriors basketball team may relocate to San Francisco to a new stadium to be constructed for them on that Pier (30). Spokesmen for Red's were featured on the nightly news earlier in the week confirming the plans for the new stadium. Yesterday afternoon found me in the city with the 8x10 in the trunk and a parking spot a mere 50 yards away. So I parked and checked out the shoot with my Linhoff Lensfinder and spot meter. A middle-aged gentleman was sitting on the right hand side sketching the restaurant and the sun was providing the lighting from the west. So... shoot, why not?

    Printed today as a Vandyke.

It is sad to see places like this disappear. Think about the people that have had coffee there in the last 90 years!

    Re: Street Photography

Because most street photography is shot with smaller formats and by Forum rules belongs in the lounge. The ones I posted in the thread above were all shot with a 6x7 camera. However I also shoot street photography on ocasion with a Toyo 45CF and shot the image posted above with an 8x10 monorail.

There's probably only a handful of us that shoot street photography with LF and a thread dedicated to LF Street Photography would be interesting.

Yes, I agree that a LF Street Photography could be interesting. I'm even inspired to try it.

I read the LFPF by clicking on "New posts", and when the new posts open they don't specify whether they're from the Lounge or Image Sharing and Discussion. I only see the title of the thread. If you're able to edit the title of your post, can you add the LF at the beginning, so I (and others) will know which forum it's from? I'm trying to think of a reason why I even care, and can't come up with any, except to add some clarification for us anal retentive types.

Ha! I shot a similar scene of Chess players on Market Street last week but with a Canor G9 P&S! The chains kind of make it appear that everyone is chained together as prisioners

A couple of mine. New to Film. Shot with RB67 w/50mm Sekor, Portra 160 converted to B/W via LR3. Sorry for the size. They're already on my site in a folder.
