Kodak Master View 8x10 - Serial Number & Age

    Hi,

Does anyone have any thoughts on how to get date info for a Kodak Master View 8x10? The serial number on its own doesn't appear to do it.

    cheers!

A wild guess, does it fit with the CAMEROSITY numbering system?

Thanks for the thoughts so far - the "serial number" (at least that's what I take it to be) is just a four digit number - no letters at all. It's stamped into the brass "rail" below the rear standard.

Is the Master View made in the US ? Kodak made cameras in the UK as well, they also had a plant in Toronto.

    They are very nice cameras!

Thank you very much for your replies. This camera has a worn decal on the top of the front sliding rail that indicates that it was made in Rochester. There is a brass plate on the front of the rail labeling it as a Kodak Master View 8x10.Click image for larger version.

    Hi Greg

Thanks - no plate on the bottom of the base on this camera, just the front of the sliding rail.
