Hi,
Does anyone have any thoughts on how to get date info for a Kodak Master View 8x10? The serial number on its own doesn't appear to do it.
cheers!

A wild guess, does it fit with the CAMEROSITY numbering system?

No, mine starts with "FF" then the number.
Thanks for the thoughts so far - the "serial number" (at least that's what I take it to be) is just a four digit number - no letters at all. It's stamped into the brass "rail" below the rear standard.
Can you post a picture? Mine is a brass plackard riveted to the bottom of the base.
Is the Master View made in the US ? Kodak made cameras in the UK as well, they also had a plant in Toronto.

It was made in Rochester, NY in the late 50's- early 60's. I had contacted Kodak's archives for any info on these cameras a few years ago, and the only things they had were copies of the parts manual and owner manual. No information on the history or manufacture of these things.
They are very nice cameras!
I steal time at 1/125th of a second, so I don't consider my photography to be Fine Art as much as it is petty larceny.
