    Photo Wipes?

I used to buy Premier Photowipes. I've used them most recently to provide a clean surface in my bathroom "darkroom" on which to place film and film loaders while loading and unlading film from film holders. They lasted a long time, but I've just used up my last box.

I can't find anything like them at any of the usual places I look such as Calumet, B & H, etc.

Can anyone suggest a good substitute for such purposes? I ordered some 9 x 9 inch Pec Pads, but I don't know if they will work as well.

Leonard, You might try a motion picture supply house. My brother-in-law is a cameraman and he always seems to have boxes of what are very much like Photowipes. They use them for cleaning the big lenses...Good luck! Robbie

They say "Please Call" but when I did, they told me they were discontinued. They suggested 4 x 4 Pec Pads as a substitute, but I've already ordered 9 x 9 Pec pads.

Try filmtools.com It's for cinematographers but I keep finding useful things. I buy no-residue gaffer's tape in a variety of color codes from them to make all my field notes on filmholders. Peel off the tape and stick it on the envelope..fast, easy, accurate portable notes. They have a couple pages of wipes.

Leonard, I use Kimtech clean room wipes, 12 X 12 inch, 100 wipes per pack, about $28 per pack. Real low lint suitable for class 10 clean rooms, so yield essentially no lint. Can be bought from ULINE Inc. at $145 per 5 pack. No. S-13045.
