    Acrylic GG vs Glass

Im about to get some ground glass for my 8x10 camera that is being made by Richard Ritter. He uses high quality acrylic instead of glass. At the same time I hear much good about Hopf groundglass and wonders if someone have tried both and can explain the difference, pros and cons. Thanks

    Re: Acrylic GG vs Glass

Acrylic will scratch fairly easily, but glass is more likely to break. Thin acrylic may bow off-plane on a large ground glass, even under the light pressure of a loupe.
