If the edges of the circles are toothed, those look very much like the carriers for the Simmons-Omega attachment for the D-2 and other D series enlargers that has a tilt function for correction of converging lines.

No, the edges are beveled exactly like rectangular De Vere ones.

Those don't look like my Devere carriers; looks more like Omega.

They certainly look like the carriers for a De Vere 54 (pre-504).

Phil, thanks, that clears up the mystery. I bought a De Vere 504 Mk 1 from a lovely lady and it had a dose of inserts for various sizes of film including the strange circular ones, of which she had no knowledge - they came with the 504 when she bought it.

The construction looked like they were De Vere but I'd never heard of the 54 and now I see one that's exactly what they are.

Just need to find a set of glasses for 504 now!

    Kind regards,

    Sandy.

Nothing really makes sense, but yes, they are carriers for the 1940s design very pretty De Vere 54 enlarger - The hinge springs on my set a very strong and were referred to in the RAF as the DeVere Man Trap - The 120 version if let to slip can punch a very neat hole in a piece of film

I have donated mine to a nearby museum, where it has not yet been installed I noted the other day
