Question about Elinchrom speed ring

I have a bunch of Elinchrom softboxes and such. All of them have cast metal speed rings in natural (shiny) finish.

I just bought a used softbox, and it came with a white painted metal speed ring that looks quite different.

Is this a newer version, or possibly from a different company?
I know other softbox manufacturers make their own speed rings to mount their products on Elinchrom lights.
