    Just bought another 4x5 Camera

Just bought a Horseman LX from Peter Walnes on ebay in exc++ condition for £251 delivered with a 14 day approval period (ebay item 370611489247). I have dealt with Peter many times before so have no worries as regards the expected condition. I have done a search but cannot find a manual available anywhere for it.

So I have a few questions:

Does anyone know where I might find a manual?
Is the back a standard Graflok back or a design specific to Horseman?
Are then any accessories that are a 'must have' for the Horseman LX?

    Any advice gratefully accepted.

    TIA.

I have now been directed to a manual from a member on a different forum.

You have bought a great camera. The one I had did have a Graflok back as standard issue. As you probably know, many of the accessories, bellows, boards etc., are interchangeable with Sinar. I use a Horseman bag bellows and a rotating roll film adapter on my Sinar.

    Enjoy,

Thanks Joseph, I did not know about the interchanging with Sinar kit until a few minutes ago, at least that should mean there is a decent amount of accessories available.

I have had a quick look through the 20 page manual and it looks like my learning curve has just got steeper.

If the camera has a Graflok back that should mean I can use my Toyo's rotating back and screen hood on it.

i have just got to try to understand all the additional movements that are available on it now.

I think that will accept some Linhof accessories, too.

    You bought a heavy camera.

Seriously, these cameras are great, a good buy for the money I think.

A lot of Horseman "LX" cameras on eBay aren't actually "LX" versions, but other model versions. I wonder if you actually have an LX.

I have an "LS", which has base tilts and center tilts, and the frames are removeable. It's the best Horseman ever made, IMO, even though the LX was the "top of the line."

If you have an LE/LS/LX, you got yourself an awesome camera.

One of the best accessories is a Sinar shutter.

Allows you to use barrel lenses with ease and accuracy.

It's definetely printed LX on the block under the rear standard

Excuse my ignorance, but where/how would this fit?
