Jonathan this is really a nice shot, did you have to tickle her foot to get that smile?

No tickling required. In fact I planned to take the shot with her eyes closed, but at the last second she opened them a tiny bit and smiled, too. She gets full credit for improving the shot. She's a reluctant model, but even she admits this is a good photo of her. Of course I think so but I've got no objectivity!

One of the few images with a person as the subject I have done.
This may have been May but since it was made around 1982 I just don't remember for sure.
Dave and myself are slightly more weathered than we were back then, the rocks I suspect have notice the years little.
You should do more, that's pretty great.

Not a portrait I took any time recently, but I'm sharing it in May... does that count?

This is likely the very first 4x5 image I took - and still one of my best. The studio flash certainly helps.

    Aye They do.

Another one from same test. Heliar is wide open, and film is Arista EDU 100 (i ran out of ilford suddenly and all the rest of film was either colour or iso 25 and light was fading.. so i winged it on 1/15th..).. Wee tilt here.

    'Darrell'
I got bogged today...I mean my van and darkroom caravan I use to shoot on location got bogged for 3 hours. I had to be saved by a passing 4WD. I did get to shoot 2 plates though in between bursts of rain and digging out the caravan. A bit of a challenge but loads of fun.

10"x13" Black Glass Ambrotype...8 second exposure.
