    Pre model III made before 1946 during. DRM is Deutche Reichs Patent.

    I don't suppose it's a coincidence that a "Linhof 4x5 Camera Pre model III made before 1946 DRGM DRP Deutche Reichs Patent" just popped up on that auction site? Beautiful camera, though.

    Value is hard to say for obvious reasons - there aren't a lot of pre-IIIs being sold. Maybe a collector would pay a lot for one in as nice shape as this one seems to be. But as a user I wouldn't think the value would be very much. Ordinary IIIs in good condition generally sell in the hundreds of dollars, something like $400 on the low side, $800 on the high. I would assume a pre-III would be the same or less as a user. But never having actually seen a pre-III for sale this is all just speculation. You could always put it on ebay, set a very high reserve, and see what happens if you want to know an exact number as of a given day.
