So how does your assessment of the "desired" print tonality not constitute "interpretation"??

If this Chuck is the same as the one who was in group 3 of the print exchange, then he knows his stuff. Standout print. There is no right way to determine correct exposure.

Based on earlier conversations I am sure ChuckP is talking about the system itself when he says he doesn't interpret it, he tries to be as faithful to the original steps as possible.

He is, of course, interpreting his scene and prints...

It's not the same "Chuck", but that's a nice compliment that any "Chuck" would be glad to hear.

Thank you Bill, that is most correct.

No doubt true. And equally true for countless other photographers.

Chuck certainly has no credentials for pontificating on that point.

And there's countless other photographers who opine everyday in these type forums who posess no credentials at all. I've learned from some and not others, like I'm sure many have done. It's just a forum discussion, don't take yourself so seriously. In the interest of the OP, I achieve more correct exposures for my intended purpose by practicing the ZS as tought in The Negative. I would caution against trying to learn it in a public forum, it's one sure fire way to get bound up like a tangled ball of twine.

You should heed your own advice.
