In reading of Josef Sudek most accounts of his missing right arm only say he lost his right hand in WWI. In photos of him I do not see him using the rest of the arm to help balance the camera when he walked and carried it. If he had only lost the hand I would expect to see some use of the arm he had left.
Anyone know how much of the arm was lost?
I will say he is my favorite one armed photographer - as well as one of my favorites of all time. Some great images from a man driven to produce work wherever he was and in conditions that would have forced many to quit altogether.
