Josef Sudek, how much of the Right arm was gone?

In reading of Josef Sudek most accounts of his missing right arm only say he lost his right hand in WWI. In photos of him I do not see him using the rest of the arm to help balance the camera when he walked and carried it. If he had only lost the hand I would expect to see some use of the arm he had left.

Anyone know how much of the arm was lost?

I will say he is my favorite one armed photographer - as well as one of my favorites of all time. Some great images from a man driven to produce work wherever he was and in conditions that would have forced many to quit altogether.

Thank you. I had not run across that, just the "lost his hand" references. The photos of him working did not fit with the descriptions.
