I don't know. I haven't seen VC for a couple of years.
I'm curious too, though.
View Camera has some excellent articles and features not available elsewhere, quite a number written by or featuring members here.
With better organisation and an editorial board rather than a sole proprietor/editor it would be a superb magazine. I've never really liked magazines run by their owner/editor but in fairness Steve does seem to get a reasonable balance.

Nobody can fault Steve Simmons for his dedication and persistence... that's for sure!
I've always gotten a prompt response after calling them.
As an occasional writer of articles for them, I have mixed feelings regarding this magazine. For years I enjoyed it without knowing anything except that I perhaps wanted to get maybe some of my photo work into the magazine. So I ponied up some money and took Steve's workshop. It was a positive experience and I have talked with Steve on a number of occasions. I was going to be writing another article until the Kodak stuff came about. Sometimes stuff does seem to get pushed aside, but like anything else we all have to make our way the best we can.
I think Steve does care about photo and publishing and sometimes us photo- people, but he takes the critics way too hard and that does seem to get in the way. Personally things are very tight right now and I only have so much money to devote to photo periodicals and I guess thats why I am forced to decide who's magazine I value more.

As a European subscriber to VC, ordering the magazine through their European distributor Mike Walker from Walker Cameras in the UK worked very well. I did receive timely responses and the magazine is in the mail always in time.
As for the content of VC, there are some nice articles. On the other hand, you will of course find a lot of similar stuff on the internet for free.
Cheers,
Andreas
To infinity - and beyond...
I just wish they would offer a digital only subscription option.
