    What coverage for 30" goerz

Been researching a lens capable of at least 30" or 750 mm coverage for future wet plate project.

Any one used a 30" goerz?

    Other recommendations?

    Please and thank you

There was a 600mm Dagor in barrel on ebay a while back, it was withdrawn before the first bid but the starting price was $3000. It sold for more than that but not by all that much. I think they are hard to find. Look at a Schneider 550XL or 1100XL maybe, if you want new.

Re: What coverage for 30" goerz

    I have a 24" atar

    25.4 mm to the inch = 24x25.4=609.6

Not tryin to be smart just finally installed the math of inch to mm conversion in my skull

But I suppose my real question, and I know I may sound stoopid but as 30" = 762mm, is that the circle that film needs to sit inside as in cover. Or does a 30" attar have a greater coverage much like a dagor 19" which people use for 24" film?

I have also read that a 19" dagor can be converted to 33"
Which would be handy if I knew how!

    Thanks for your reply david

I have an 11x14 Seneca view camera. I use a 12/21/28 Turner Reich Triple convertible, a 360mm Schneider Componon, a 450mm APO Ronar, a 600mm (or thereabouts) APO Nikkor, and a 30" Kodak Process Ektar.

The Process Ektar, I wonder if that is an updated Eastman Anastigmat process lens? The E.A. is an Artar clone, I have one in 13", uncoated, but very sharp.

I have an 21" Eastman Anastigmat process lens, and it is nothing like the 30" Kodak Process Ektar. The Process Ektar is a massive lens, weighing about 7 pounds. With the housing it is about 8" in diameter and 3" front to back. I'm not home where I can look at the lens, so I don't know the range of f stops.

I'm interested in knowing the optical design.
