    Tri-X...Dead?

I just tried to buy 4x5 Tri-X on B&H. Listed as out of stock. It's also "out of stock" on Kodak's website. Does anyone know if Tri-X is dead??

Better not be. I just got 5 rolls of 120 from Freestyle, on the way. Oddly enough, it's considerably cheaper to buy separate single rolls than five roll pro packs.

The sheet film TXP is a different emulsion, but I'm sure we'd have heard if it were discontinued. More likely there's just been a run on it to beat the announced 15% price hike.

Seems to be in stock at Adorama, free shipping even.

Curious that B&H is out of stock on 4x5 Tri-X *again*. They were out of stock last month, then received a shipment, and apparently today are again out of stock. Guess I'll put my order of sundry materials on hold until they get some more.

Not curious at all. Folks are nervous and wondering whether Kodak will decide to or be permitted to continue supplying all its films and 320TXP is used by many of them.

I've got a freezer full of 5x7 320TXP, but figured I'd try some in 4x5 too, so ordered one box from B&H a few weeks ago. When that shipment arrived, there were about 150 boxes of 4x5; all is now sold. In contrast, B&H still has 135 boxes of 4x5 100TMX in stock, and it arrived around the same time as 320TXP did. I guess people just like Tri-X better.

East Coast Photo might be a good source.
They have it listed as, 'In-Stock.' 50 sheet box, w/USA shipping, about $75.

Freestyle has it too "in retail store, ships in..."

Pretty clear to me it's not discontinued, there's just been a run on supplies between Kodak's Chapter 11 and the announced price increase.
