    Problem with shutter lens scale

    Hello there,

Recently I bought a Linhof Technika 4x5" with a very nice Voigtlander Apo-Lanthar 150/4.5. The lens is mounted not on it's original Synchro-Compur shutter, but on a Copal 1 shutter. So the shutter scale is from f 5.6 to f 64 and on the original shutter is form f 4.5 to f 32. Is the any possibility to find - and where in Europe - a scale for Copal 1 that is form f 4.5 to f 32.

    Thank you,

    Christo

You will have to send the APO Lantar lens cells and replacement Copal 1 shutter to a organization like "SK Grimes" so they can measure and produce the proper f scale.

    Here's Adams Link

You can can contact Adam if only for his advice.

Any camera repair shop in Paris can do a new scale for you. Blank scales are available from Rodenstock, Schneider or Copal so the repair house will have no problem getting a set of blanks for your shutter.

Thank you, Bob! I was yesterday in Grand Format in Paris so they told me that they do not do this and they do not have the scales. I have reed you posts in photo.net from 2007, somebody had almost the same problem. So, now when I close to f 64 (regarding the scale of this shutter - Copal 1 - it is actually f 32 or not?

Not necessarily. It all depends on what lens the scale originally went with. Case in point. Not to many 150mm lenses mount in Copal 1 shutter. Your Copal 1 probably housed a Symmar/Sironar 210mm f5.6 . In this case I'm not sure you can go with the one stop difference thing.
