How is the Minolta Spotmeter F for flash metering?

I already have a Pentax spot meter and a Minolta flash meter. In terms of having a back-up meter and also gaining a little more capability, how does the Minolta Spotmeter F (Flash) do? Can I simply take meter readings and use my head instead of mucking with memory functions and a complicated user interface? I really appreciate the simplicity of the other meters....

Seems like spot metering flash could be a fun way to add to the billable hours ;-p

Isn't that was a dslr is for?
It works just as it should. You can mount little receivers directly to the top of the meter since it's flat. I sold mine recently to fund a pentax and I now have zero flash reading capability. I wish my spectra or the pentax could read flash.

    Hi Frank,

I have the Spotmeter F and used it for many years before I got the Sekonic L-558.

The Minolta is an excellent meter, easy to use and quite accurate.

If you believe you can, or you believe you can't... you're right.
