Tips for using a Sinar p 4x5 with 8x10 rear standard

A recent eBay purchase arrived on my door this morning. As with everything on eBay, it's a dice game but the price on this item was decent enough to take a risk. The seller's seven day return policy helps lessen some of the risk.

The rear format frame is clearly for 4x5 (Sinar 433.26). The rear standard bearer DOF scale has 8x10 printed on it so it would likely take the 8x10 rear format frame. It is difficult to tell if the front standard bearer is for 4x5 or 8x10 but it is much larger and provides more vertical adjustment than the rear.

Obviously the DOF scale will be off for 4x5 but what other issues would one expect with this setup?

It sounds as though someone converted an 8x10 P to 4x5 by changing the rear frame and bellows.

If so, and you want to also shoot 8x10, you're in luck. All you need is the 8x10 rear frame and bellows.

If you believe you can, or you believe you can't... you're right.
