Emil Busch 5x7 Camera? Help Identify this one

As I'm moving and having garage sales every weekend at my studio, a gentleman came today and brought back some cameras from his own garage.

This is one of them. It's in good shape I'd say, definitely outside of my normal equipment. What exactly is this? I'm going to find it a new home with someone who will enjoy it, though curious to it's history.

Well it looks like a UK camera. Don't be misled by the "Busch" nameplate. Or the 1900ish Busch lens!
This has been used well into the 20th century as the old special fitment for a wooden tripod has been adapted for more modern tripods with 1/4, 3/8" screws.

    A google search throws up:
    TRIBEES FIELD CAMERA
BUSCH CAMERA CO., LONDON; HALF-PLATE, BRASS AND MAHOGANY, WITH A BUSCH LENS IN A UNICUM SHUTTER AND DARKSLIDES .
This is the Lot description from a Christies auction in 1997.
Mckeowns has Emil Busch of London being the UK office of the parent company in Rathenow Germany. They did a lot of rebadged Krugener cameras apparently. Tribees seems to be a name given to a number of different cameras similar to the way Thornton Pickard used Ruby.

Interesting. Thanks for the info. I'm going to get the shutter working, right now just T is functional. Neat camera.

    Nice search results!
Lens VM lists Busch as having another London agent. Krugener looks like the maker, but it is still possible that the Busch organisation just used a UK camera to increase their lens sales. With my surname, one should have thought I had known about Tribees!
This design of shutter is notorious and was soon replaced by shutters which really gave different speeds.
