Reducing back - hard to find?

Hi there! This is my first post. I pretty much know the answer to my question here, but just wanted to get the word out that I am looking for a reducing back, 5x7 to 4x5 for an Eastman 2D. Does anyone have any leads? I only recently signed up and don't have access to the wanted/for sale ads yet. I shoot exclusively large format, whether 4/5 or 5/7, but my 4/5 is homemade, and since my 5/7 works wonderfully I just want a back for it, instead of investing in a whole different camera.

    Thanks!

Since you made your 4x5 you can certainly make a reducing back for the 5x7.

If you believe you can, or you believe you can't... you're right.

Re: Reducing back - hard to find?

I agree with using reducing backs on good larger cameras. I've done it for decades. My 5x7 B&J cameras have reducing backs made with the Graflok and Graphic backs from junk Speed Graphics. They aren't elegant, but work perfectly. If you are doing professional work where the appearance of your cameras might be important, more attractive reducing backs are occasionally available on that online auction site.
