Learn how to make and coat your own AZO printing paper emulsion at George Eastman House this April. Ron Mowrey (ex-Kodak emulsion engineer) and process historian Mark Osterman teach this special hands-on workshop. AZO emulsion is both easy and cheap to produce and teaches the basics of emulsion making.

Participants will also view masterworks of silver gelatin printing in the George Eastman House by Edward Weston, Ansel Adams, Alfred Stieglitz, Anne Brigman, Emmet Gowin and many others. Readings include complete formulas for the featured emulsion and vintage reprints covering the evolution of gelatin emulsion making.

In the future we'll offer silver bromide emulsions for negatives on film or plates and enlargements on paper, but attending the AZO workshop will be a requirement for attendance.
